Ex-3SC striker Ayanrinde joins Kenya Police ahead of CAF Champions League stint

By Dayo Awoniyi

Former Shooting Stars forward, Samuel Ayanrinde, has completed a move to Kenya Police FC, the reigning champions of the Kenyan Premier League.

The Nigerian striker, who built his reputation in the Nigeria Premier Football League with his pace and eye for goal, will now spearhead the East African club’s attack as they make their CAF Champions League debut.

Ayanrinde’s arrival comes as Kenya Police step up preparations for their first preliminary round clash against Mogadishu City Stars today.

The 23-year-old is widely regarded as a clinical finisher whose movement and presence often trouble defenders, qualities the champions hope will translate into goals on the continental stage.

Fresh from winning their maiden league crown, Kenya Police are banking on Ayanrinde and other new signings to bolster their squad and mount a credible challenge in Africa’s premier club competition.
