Fatai Osho: New Akwa United coach targets continental berth in first season

Newly unveiled Head Coach of Akwa United FC, Fatai Osho has disclosed that securing one of the slots for CAF inter club competitions are his aim for the upcoming season.
Osho was presented to the players, fans and supporters of the Promise Keepers as Head Coach on Wednesday in Uyo ahead of 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL season.
The former Remo Stars and Enyimba FC coach replaced Deji Ayeni, who left the club after the expiration of his contract last season.
Osho, who was part of the Rivers United coaching staff that won the 2021/2022 NPFL title revealed that his ambition is to help Akwa United back to the top in the league just as he lauded the management led by Elder Paul Bassey for being professional and supportive.
” Yes, I’m very happy to be here, My ambition is to help the club fight for every title and take the team back to the continent,” he told media.
“However, I would also like to hail the management of the club led by the Chairman, Elder Paul Bassey for also being professional and supportive to the team.”
Akwa United are expected to challenge the likes of Enyimba, Remo Stars, Rivers United and Kano Pillars for the league title when the 2023/24 NPFL season get underway on September 9, 2023.
