Federal Government Upgrades Cash Gift to Super Falcons’ Head Coach

Women Africa Cup Of Nations (WAFCON 2024) trophy winning coach Justine Madugu has received an upgrade on his financial reward from the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The Super Falcons’ gaffer masterminded the team’s triumph at WAFCON which culminated in the 3-2 come from behind win over hosts Atlas Lionesses of Morocco on Saturday 26 July 2025 in Rabat.

Hosting the victorious squad on arrival in Abuja yesterday, President Bola Tinubu announced a $50,000 cash gift each to the Falcons’ technical crew led by Madugu, alongside other gestures.

According to international sports journalist Osasu Obayiuwana on his X handle today, Madugu will now receive more than $100,000 which was the amount each of the players pocketed.

Osasu who provided an extensive coverage of the competition for his online audiences, quoted the Director General of the National Sports Commission Bukola Olopade as the source of the recent information.
