Five Nigerians inspire BIIK Kazygurt to win Kazakhstan Women’s Championship title

Five Nigerian players have helped BIIK Kazygurt win the Kazakhstan women’s top-flight league for the 2023 season.
The Nigerian include Igbonoba Victoria Titilayo, Ogunsanwo Opeyemi Anuoluwapo, Ikediuba Peace, Salisu Anuoluwapo Grace, and Kuku Oluwadamilola.
Salisu joined the club after winning the 2022 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership title with Bayelsa Queens, while Kuku switched to the Kazakhstani side from another NWFL side, Osun Babes in 2023.
Ikediuba Peace played for the second-tier NWFL Championship side, Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens before completing her move to BIIK Shymkent.
BIIK Shymkent won the title with 48 points at the end of the season ahead of Tomiris-Turan with 29 points.
The win meant UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) qualification for the 2024/2025 season.
