Flourish Sabastine’s maiden professional move to France excites Bayelsa Queens

Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side, Bayelsa Queens has expressed their delight with the transfer of their former striker, Flourish Sabastine to French side, Stade de Reims.

Sabastine completed the switch from the Nigerian side with the French D1 Arkema outfit confirming her arrival on Friday and the 2022 Nigerian champions took to social media to felicitate with the youngster on her brilliant move.

“👏👏👏 We are delighted to announce that our star striker Flourish Sabastine has completed her transfer to French club Stade de Reims féminine. Flourish has been a loyal and dedicated member of our team,” the team posted on their Facebook page.

She is a talented and hardworking player, and we are proud of her achievements. We thank her for her service and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.

Sabastine signed a two-year deal with the French side and joined two of her teammates at the U-20 national team, Tosin Demehin and Rofiat Imuran at the club.

She was part of the Bayelsa Queens side that won the Nigerian league title in 2022 and scored two goals in her side’s race to winning the WAFU-B Women’s Champions League title.

She was also pivotal in the Prosperity Girls’ debut campaign at the Morocco 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League, beating Simba Queens to the bronze medals.

She also played a crucial role as the Yenegoa-based side finished second behind Delta Queens in the 2022/2023 NWFL Premiership campaign and in the winning of the 2023 Federation Cup (FA Cup).
