Flying Eagles soar into WAFU-B Semifinals after comeback win over Benin Republic

Nigeria U-20 national team have qualified for the semi final of 2025 West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) Boys Cup after a 4-1 win over Benin Republic on Sunday.
Aliyu Zubairu’s side had to come from a goal down to secure the big win over their neighbours.
A brilliant free kick from Junior Olugbade gave Benin Republic the lead in the 24th minute.
In the 39th minute, Flying Eagles leveled the scoreline. Brilliant link up play in the box and a good play from Divine Oliseh located Mohammed Abdullahi who scored his second goal in two games for the team.
Two minutes into the second half, Nigeria went ahead for the first time. Ezekiel Anthony Kpangu scored for the team to secure a comeback.
Two late goals from Imrana Muhammad and Abdujelil Mustapha sealed a 4-1 win.
With four points from two games, Nigeria made it to the semi final after an initial 1-1 draw with host, Ghana.
