By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigeria’s prolific forward, Francisca Ordega, showcased her scoring prowess once again for Russian top-flight outfit, CSKA Moscow, as they secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Ryazan in their second league game of the 2024 season.

In a tightly contested first half, both teams struggled to find the back of the net. However, CSKA Moscow broke the deadlock early in the second half, with Margarita Chernomyrdina netting the opening goal just four minutes after the restart.

The Moscow-based side extended their lead further when Nevena Damjanovic found the back of the net in the 52nd minute. Ordega then capped off a superb performance by scoring her second consecutive goal of the season in the 61st minute, sealing a comprehensive 3-0 win for her team.

Ordega had previously opened her league account during the opening match of the campaign, highlighting her importance to the CSKA Moscow squad.

Following their impressive victory, CSKA Moscow sits at the top of the league table with six points from two games, leading the pack ahead of other top teams such as Lokomotiv Moscow, Dynamo Moscow, and Zenit.

Next up for Ordega and her teammates is an away league encounter against Zvezda 2005 scheduled for March 23, 2024. With Ordega in fine form, CSKA Moscow will be hoping to maintain their winning streak and continue their pursuit of success in the Russian top-flight league.
