Francisca Ordega’s early strike not enough as Al Ittihad suffers another setback

By Dayo Awoniyi
Nigeria legend Francisca Ordega’s impressive start in the Saudi Women’s Premier League continued on Saturday, but her team, Al Ittihad, suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Al Nassr.
Ordega’s 13th-minute goal gave Al Ittihad a promising lead, but once again, the team’s inconsistency showed as Al Nassr equalized before eventually taking the lead.
Despite Ordega’s efforts and her compatriot Ashleigh Plumptre, who captained the side, Al Ittihad struggled to mount a successful comeback.
This defeat marked their seventh loss in ten matches, leaving Al Ittihad in 7th place with 18 points.
With their chances of climbing up the table dwindling, they will be looking to turn their season around in their next match against Al Taraji.
