Frank Onyeka set to launch world class academy in Abia State

Nigerian international and Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka recently visited Abia State Governor Alex Otti while on vacation in Nigeria.
During the visit, Onyeka presented his Super Eagles jersey to the governor as a token of appreciation and discussed his plans to build a world-class football academy in the state.
Onyeka, who played a crucial role in helping Brentford avoid relegation in the Premier League, is in Nigeria for his season-end break. He also represented the Super Eagles in their last 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
The midfielder expressed his admiration for Governor Otti’s vision and efforts to improve Abia State, highlighting the governor’s focus on attracting investments and fostering development.
Onyeka emphasized his desire to give back to his community and contribute to the state’s growth through his football academy project.
“Because I have seen the Governor’s vision in improving the State and also trying to bring more investments into the State. So for me, I think I’m happy to come back to my State, I also want to give back to the people of Abia State, that’s why I am here,” Onyeka said.
He shared photos of the visit on social media, expressing his excitement about the collaboration and the potential impact of their joint efforts.
“Had the privilege of meeting Governor @alexottiofr and witnessed the remarkable progress he’s made in Abia state. I look forward to collaborating with him in building the next generation of football players,” Onyeka posted.
