Head Coach Bunmi Haruna expressed immense pride in his team’s resilience and performance after leading Family Worship Football Champions (FWC FC) to a historic victory in the final of the 2025 FCT President FA Cup.
FWC FC secured a thrilling 4-3 penalty shootout win over defending champions EFCC FC on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Area 3 Football Stadium, after a goalless draw in regulation time.
“We have worked tirelessly to improve our penalty shooting, and it paid off today,” Haruna said to the media after the match.
“I am grateful to the players, backroom staff, and supporters for their dedication and hard work. This win is a testament to everyone’s commitment.”
With the victory, FWC FC has secured their place in the upcoming National President Cup’s Round of 64, where they will face teams from across the country.
Haruna, who also has a background in journalism as former chairman of FCT SWAN, acknowledged the crucial role media and community support played in their success.
“This trophy is dedicated to everyone who has backed us throughout this journey,” Haruna added.
