Belgian top-flight club Gent, featuring the Nigerian trio of Moses Simon, Anderson Esiti, and Samuel Kalu, is set to face Bundesliga outfit FC Schalke 04 in a winter break friendly game, as announced by Schalke on their official website.
The eagerly anticipated match is scheduled for Sunday, January 7, 2018, and will be held in Spain at the Estadio Municipal Guillermo Amor in Benidorm, marking the conclusion of Schalke’s training camp. The announcement on Schalke’s website stated, “After 21 fixtures, KAA Gent lie in fifth place in the Jupiler Pro League. The 2015 Belgian league champions are coached by Yves Vanderhaeghe.”
Both teams will use this friendly encounter as part of their preparations for the resumption of league action after the winter break. Gent is set to host Lokeren on Sunday, January 21, 2018, in their first league match of the year.
