Gift Orban fires blank, sees red in Gent’s comeback win against Eupen

Yet-to-be-capped Nigeria striker, Gift Orban got the taste of mixed feelings on Sunday as he was given a marching order in Gent’s 2-1 comeback victory over Eupen in the Matchday Seven of Belgian Jupiler league.
The young striker who has being in scintillating form of recent started the encounter for the host but was at his second best with lackluster runs.
Gent were punished by the visitors in 27th minutes when Milo Pantovic scored from Teddy Alloh’s pass.
To add salt to the wounds, Orban was handed a straight red card for his horrible challenge on an opponent with a minute before the break.
Gent regrouped and changed approached in the second half which worked for them as they even the score three minutes of resumption. Hugo Cuypers saw his penalty saved by Eupen’s keeper but Sven Kums reacted quickly to smash home the rebound.
It didn’t show much that the hosts were playing numerical disadvantage as they were in control of proceedings from then on.
The dominance would soon earned them the winning goal with two minutes before the hour mark as Moroccoan Terik Tissoudalli find the back of the net.
Gent held on to record their fifth win of the season that saw them maintained their grip at the top of the table with 17 points from seven games.
For Orban, he would be happy with his team’s victory but would be damn to miss their next three games due to the red card.
