Glory Ogbonna reveals how family support influenced her football career

Nigeria international Glory Ogbonna has revealed how her supportive parents made sacrifices for her to become who she is today.
Since moving, the 24-year-old former Ibom Angels defender has gone on to play for Umea IK, Sweden, Santa Teresa FC, Spain, ALG Spor, Turkey, and now Besiktas.
The Besiktas defender revealed that she almost quit football after she suffered a terrible knee injury but her parents encouraged her never to gave up, narrating her father’s sparking passion for football made a career path for her.
“I remember the day my mum was crying as she witnessed an Orthopedic Doctor fixing my knee injury and I was shouting,”
“Then, My mum advised me to stop playing football because of the pain she saw me going through and noted that she is proud of me regardless.
“But my Dad, being an ex-footballer himself, gave me the backing and encouraged me all through the therapy until I became fit and here I am today.”
