Górnik Zabrze’s sporting director, Lukasz Milik, has disclosed the qualities that motivated the club to sign Nigerian winger Taofeek Ismaheel from FC Lorient on a three-year deal.
Milik revealed that the club had been tracking Ismaheel for some time and made contact with him in June.
Despite receiving numerous offers from other clubs, Ismaheel chose to join Górnik Zabrze.
“We knew from the beginning that Lawrence Ennali would most likely leave us in this window, which is why we had candidates for his position prepared,” Milik said, as quoted by Górnik Zabrze.
“We started negotiations on the transfer of Tao in June. Despite several better offers, he chose Górnik because he knows that it is a good club for development.”
Milik described the Nigerian star as an offensive player who will be a great addition to their attacking force next season.
“Taofeek is a very dynamic winger, with good dribbling and playing at the same level with both feet. I am very happy that such a quality player strengthens our offensive.”
Górnik Zabrze has already resumed training ahead of the next season, preparing for their season opener against rivals Lech Poznań.
