Governor Seyi Makinde’s presence inspires Shooting Stars to another late NPFL victory

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, was once again in attendance at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Ibadan, on Sunday, as Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) secured another dramatic late win — a 1-0 triumph over Plateau United in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Week 7 fixture.

Governor Makinde’s presence appears to bring good fortune to the Oluyole Warriors, as his last visit also ended in a victory — a 1-0 win against Sporting Lagos on June 23, 2024, with Christian Pyagbara scoring the decisive goal in the 38th minute.

With Sunday’s win, Shooting Stars climbed to fifth position on the NPFL table, having accumulated 11 points from seven matches.

Two visits, two wins — the Governor’s winning energy continues to shine over Ibadan’s beloved club.

📅 Match Details
Shooting Stars 1–0 Plateau United
Date: October 5, 2025
Goal: Ismail Ayodele (90+4’)
