Hertha Berlin part ways with Chidera Ejuke

Hertha Berlin have parted ways with Chidera Ejuke following an unsuccessful spell at the German Bundesliga club.

Ejuke moved to Hertha Berlin on loan from Russian outfit CSKA Moscow in July 2022 but he couldn’t have an impact with the German club as injuries hampered his playing time.

In a statement, Hertha announced that the Super Eagles midfielder didn’t play to their expectations due to injuries.

“We would like to thank Chidi, who unfortunately was unable to play the role we all wanted to play in the second half of the season due to injury had hoped for,” the club wrote on its website.

Injury-plagued campaign saw the Super Eagles midfielder make just 20 appearances for Hertha Berlin and recorded four assists in the process.

Despite defeating Wolfsburg 2-1 on the last day of the Bundesliga season, Hertha were relegated from the German Bundesliga after finishing bottom of the table with 29 points from 34 matches.
