Hon. Ekene Adams: House of Rep member and ex-Remo Stars’ General Manager dies

Honourable Ekene Abubakar Adams, former General Manager of Remo Sl Constituency in Kaduna state, as well as the Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, has passed away.

His demise has cast a pall over the Nigerian football community, leaving many in mourning.

Adams reportedly passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, although the cause of his death remains unknown at the time of this report. He had been contending with underlying health issues for several years.

Various sports groups, particularly those within the football community, have begun to mourn his loss. Among them, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, former secretary of the Club Owners Association, expressed his condolences.

“My good friend and one of our frontline members of the NPFL Club Owners Association, Chairman House Committee on Sports, Hon Ekene Abubakar Adams is dead,” Chukwuemeka wrote on Tuesday.

“May God console his family and friends and may his soul rest in peace.”

Adams, a former football player, also served as the General Manager of the defunct Kada City in the Nigeria National League before being elected to Nigeria’s national assembly.
