By Saheed Afolabi

President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, has assured newly appointed Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, of the Federation’s full support as he takes charge of the national team.

Chelle’s appointment ended the interim reign of Augustine Eguavoen, and Gusau expressed confidence in the Malian coach’s ability to lead the Super Eagles to success.

Gusau is optimistic that with the right attitude and spirit, Chelle can take the team to new heights on the global stage.

“We see in the new head coach the right spirit and the right attitude, and I have faith that he will take the Super Eagles to the next level,” Gusau said, according to NFF.

“He sees the job of leading the Super Eagles as his dream job, and that is a huge motivation in itself.”

The NFF president highlighted that Chelle is fully aware of the challenges ahead and is motivated by the opportunity to lead the team.

Gusau reiterated that the NFF will provide all necessary support to ensure Chelle’s success in the role.

“Coach Chelle recognizes and appreciates what is ahead of him, and he says he loves the challenge. We will be there giving him the necessary support all the way,” Gusau added.

The NFF’s commitment to supporting Chelle underscores their belief in his capabilities to guide the Super Eagles to success, particularly in their bid to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
