Ifeanyi Udeze raises concerns about Super Eagles’ AFCON 2025 chances

By Saheed Afolabi

Nigeria ex-international Ifeanyi Udeze has expressed his displeasure over the national team’s recent form in matches.

Following the recent draw for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, which has placed the Super Eagles in a group alongside Benin Republic, Libya, and Rwanda, Udeze is particularly wary of the threat posed by the Squirrels of Benin.

Reflecting on Nigeria’s performances in previous matches, particularly in the World Cup qualifiers, Udeze voiced his concerns and hopes for improvement. He is not convinced by the current results and is anxious about the upcoming challenges.

“I have my fears now about the Super Eagles,” Udeze was quoted by Brila FM. “I don’t have 100 percent trust in the Super Eagles again. I only have 60 percent trust in them now. Hopefully, they will beat Benin Republic this time around.”

The next round of AFCON qualifiers is scheduled to start in September 2024, while the World Cup qualifiers will resume in March 2025.
