Nigeria midfielder, Jennifer Onyi Echegini is on cloud nine after winning the 2023 Women’s Mac Herman Trophy Award.

The Juventus player had an outstanding season for Florida State University (FSU) before joining the Old Ladies.

She took to her Instagram page to express her joy after winning the award.

“Truly honoured and grateful to have received this year’s MAC Herman Trophy Award,” she posted.

“To my coaches, teammates, family, and friends. Thank you for the constant and endless support from the start of my journey.

“Without you, none of this would have been possible. Thank you to the Missouri Athletic Club for welcoming me and making this ceremony special.”

Echegini studied Management studies at Florida State University and played as a midfielder for the Seminoles from 2022 through 2023.

In December 2023, she won the Honda Sport Award for women’s football and the Most Valuable Player of the ACC Tournament, ACC Offensive Player of the Year, and was named to the First Team All-American.
