Former Nigeria international, John Mikel Obi, has fondly looked back on his remarkable journey in English football.
The ex-Chelsea midfielder enjoyed a trophy-laden career at the London club, securing prestigious titles such as the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and numerous domestic trophies.
Mikel believes he could have added more silverware to his collection had he moved to Manchester United, but he cherishes the eleven amazing years he spent at Chelsea.
Reflecting on his time at Chelsea, Mikel expressed his joy in winning trophies and building strong relationships with teammates and friends.
“I should have won more Premier League titles (if I moved to Man United), but I have four FA Cup titles,” Mikel said in an interview with beIN SPORTS.
“I’d have been the first Nigerian player to play for United, but I had an amazing 11 years at Chelsea. It became my home.
“The players, the friends, people at the club, they all became family. We won a lot, had an amazing time. More highs than lows. A brilliant time that I will never ever forget.”
The 36-year-old was also part of the Nigeria team that clinched the AFCON title back in 2013.
