Swedish based goalkeeper, Jonathan Rasheed is eyeing a call up to the Nigeria national team.
The Super Eagles have been faced with series of nightmare in the goalkeeping department following errors made by the goalies in goal.
Rasheed said, he has seen promotional posts or messages about him on the social media space and he’s excited following the recommendation about him earning a call up to the Nigeria team.
The IFK Varnamos shot stopper revealed he doesn’t have any contact with anyone but believed it will come considering his father is from Nigeria and he would be proud if given the opportunity to wear the Super Eagles colors.
“It started a week ago. I was tagged in several posts on Twitter (now X) and Instagram, and yes. It was friends who wrote that it had started to be talked about and so on,” Rasheed was quoted by Fotbollskanalen.
“I don’t know what it is or where it comes from, but there have been people who have written to me about it. It is fun. It probably means that you have done something good.
“I personally have had no contact with anyone. But I hope it might come.
“It would have been awesome. My father is from there and I have always been aware of Nigeria, Norway and Sweden.
“I would have been proud if given the chance. It’s basically the biggest thing you can do as a player.”
Varnamo are ranked fifth in the Swedish Allsvenskan league and will welcome Hammarby to the five thousand capacity Finnvedsvallen Värnamo on November four.
