Joy Omewa inspires Fortuna Hjorring to Danish Elitedivisionen league title

Nigeria forward, Joy Omewa scored a goal for Fortuna Hjorring during a 1-1 draw with Brondby as her team won the Danish league title on Saturday.

The former Confluence Queens opened scoring for the team in the first half of play.

Dajan Hashemi leveled the scoreline in the second half to ensure that both sides shared the spoils.

She is the league’s top goal scorer with 18 goals and four assists.

Fortuna Hjorring ended as league champions with three matches to the end of the campaign.

They amassed 45 points after 21 games, 10 points ahead of Nordsjaelland.

The league champions will next face Nordsjaelland in the Danish Women’s Cup final on May 17, 2025.

This will be followed by three league games against Aarhus, Odense Q, and Nordsjaelland.
