NFF Delegation Visits Wilfred Ndidi in Asaba Ahead of Father’s Burial

A delegation from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Thursday paid a condolence visit to Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi in Asaba, Delta State, ahead of the funeral rites of his late father, Mr. Sunday Ndidi.

The burial ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday, February 13, 2026, in Umunede, Delta State.

During the visit, the NFF delegation presented a formal letter of condolence to the midfielder. NFF General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, conveyed the deep sorrow and heartfelt sympathies of the entire Nigeria football family over the passing of Ndidi’s father.

Dr Sanusi described the loss as a painful one and assured the Super Eagles captain of the federation’s support and prayers during the period of mourning.

Members of the delegation included NFF Executive Committee Member, Rt. Hon. Nse Essien; Chairman of the Delta State Football Association, Hon. Godwin Adode; NFF Director of Media and Communications, Dr Ademola Olajire; as well as board members of the Delta State Football Association.

The visit underscored the federation’s solidarity with Ndidi and his family at a difficult time.
