Nigeria head coach Justin Madugu is feeling confident about the Super Falcons’ prospects in their upcoming doubleheader international friendly against Algeria.
With the departure of former coach Randy Waldrum not renewed by the NFF, Madugu will lead the team in these important matches.
He has been impressed by the players’ dedication and loyalty in training, anticipating a world-class performance from the squad.
“We have been having productive sessions since we resumed on Monday. I am impressed with the discipline and dedication of the players, and I look forward to a masterclass performance by the Super Falcons in both games,” Madugu stated, as quoted by the NFF.
While acknowledging the strength of their opponents, Madugu emphasized the need for the Falcons to bounce back from their disappointing performance at the last Olympics in Paris.
“We respect the Algerians just as we respect every team we play, but we need to restore our confidence and positive spirit after our below-par outing at the Olympics.”
The Super Falcons will kick off the friendly series against Algeria at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Saturday, October 26, with the second leg scheduled for Lagos on Tuesday.
