Kano Pillars suspend Technical Adviser over poor performance, misconduct
By Dayo Awoniyi
Kano Pillars has suspended its Technical Adviser, Usman Sheriff Abdallah, for three weeks over poor performance and alleged unprofessional conduct towards fans.
The club’s Media & Communications Directorate confirmed the decision in an official statement on Sunday.
The disciplinary action follows Kano Pillars’ goalless draw against Bayelsa United on Sunday, marking their third consecutive underwhelming result.
With just one win in their last three outings, concerns have grown over the four-time NPFL winners’ inconsistent form.
Abdallah’s post-match gesture towards the fans was deemed inappropriate by the club’s management, leading to his temporary removal from duty.
The club reiterated its commitment to professionalism and maintaining a positive relationship with supporters.
In the interim, club legend and Chief Coach Ahmed Garba Yaro-Yaro will assume technical responsibilities, assisted by Abubakar Musa, Gambo Muhammad, Suleiman Shuaibu, and Ayuba Musa.
Their immediate task will be to steady the team ahead of their NPFL25 Matchday 23 clash against Remo Stars in Ikenne.
Kano Pillars hopes the move will serve as a wake-up call for the squad as they seek to regain form and finish the season on a stronger note.
