Kun Khalifat Stun Nasarawa as Kano Pillars Run Riot in NPFL Matchday 33

Matchday 33 of the Nigeria Premier Football League delivered major talking points, headlined by a dramatic late victory for Kun Khalifat FC and a dominant display from Kano Pillars.

In Lafia, Kun Khalifat secured a shock 1-0 win over Nasarawa United, with Stanley Otu scoring a decisive goal deep into stoppage time (90+5’) to snatch all three points.

At the Rangers International FC home ground in Enugu, the hosts were held to a goalless draw by Barau FC in a tightly contested encounter.

Katsina United edged Niger Tornadoes 1-0, thanks to a second-half strike from Elijah Akanni in the 65th minute.

Meanwhile, Kano Pillars delivered one of the standout performances of the round, thrashing Bendel Insurance 4-0. Goals from Mustapha Jibrin, Chiedozie Okorie, Muhammad Aminu, and Bernard Ovoke sealed an emphatic victory.

Kwara United continued their strong form with a 3-0 win over El-Kanemi Warriors, courtesy of goals from Junior Aimufua, Samsudeen Mohammed, and Abdulsalam Abdulsalam.

Remo Stars secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Shooting Stars SC, with Samuel Anakwe scoring the decisive goal early in the second half.

In another notable result, Wolves defeated Rivers United 2-0, as Igbunu Evwierhurhoma converted from the penalty spot before Othuke Egbo added a late second.

With the round concluded, Kun Khalifat’s late upset and Kano Pillars’ goal spree underline the growing competitiveness of the NPFL as the season heads toward a dramatic finish.
