Kwara United, Remo Stars pick ValueJet semifinal tickets

Kwara United have joins Remo Stars in the semifinal berths of the ValueJet Preseason Soccer Tournament going on in Ikenne, Ogun State.

Both teams were paired in Group A of the soccer tourney with Sporting Lagos and Heart and in the same group with them.

Remo Stars finished as Group A leaders following their 2-0 win over Sporting Lagos in the last group game on Sunday. The Sky Blues Stars had earlier defeated Heartland in the opening fixture before settling for a draw against Kwara United amassing seven points in the process.

Kwara United on the other hand accrued five points from three games played with their only victory coming against Heartland. They played goaless against Sporting Lagos and forced Remo Stars to one all.

Both Remo and Kwara will have to wait till Monday to determine who their their opponents in the semifinals will be as Rivers United will be taking on Abia Warriors in the concluding fixture in Group.

Late entrant Beyond Limit Academy already have one leg in the semis after garnering five points in the three games played.

They drew two matches; a one-all draw against Shooting Stars Sports Club, a goalless draw against Rivers United and 2-0 win over Abia Warriors.

Kwara United will take on the winner of Group B, while the winner of Group A,  Remo Stars will square up with runner up in Group B.

The semi-final matches will hold on Tuesday, while the final match has been scheduled for Thursday.
