Leicester City confirms Ashleigh Plumptre’s departure

Leicester City have confirmed the departure of Nigeria international, Ashleigh Plumptre.
The talented defender has bid farewell to the club following the conclusion of her contract at the esteemed King Power Stadium.
After earning her Human Biology degree from the University of Southern California’s USC Trojans, the 25-year-old Plumptre transferred to Leicester City in 2020.
During the 2022/23 season, the 25-year-old showcased her prowess on the field, making 23 appearances across various competitions.
She was a vital member of City in their first two seasons in the women’s top-flight after helping her team win the Barclays Women’s Championship title in 2021.
The club confirmed her departure via their official Twitter in a post that reads, “LCFC Women would like to thank Ashleigh for her contribution during the last four seasons and wish her well in the next phase of her career.”
