Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi emphasizes the importance of securing a victory against Tottenham Hotspur in their upcoming English Premier League clash. With Spurs experiencing a dip in form, Ndidi believes his team must remain focused on their own game to overcome the challenge posed by Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
In an interview with LCFC TV, Ndidi stated, “I have never looked too much at the opposition. We know they are a good team, so it will be very difficult. That makes it difficult, a team who has just won once in four games will be difficult because they will want to win, so we should expect that and do more to get three points.”
Acknowledging the significance of home support, Ndidi emphasizes the crucial role of fans in boosting the team’s performance, stating, “Every game at home, the fans are very crucial for us. We need three points because it feels like a while since our last win. We can do it if we play well and follow the coach’s instructions.”
Reflecting on their recent draw against West Ham, Ndidi expresses disappointment but also sees positives in the team’s performance. He highlights the diverse scoring capability within the squad and praises the contribution of teammate Marc Albrighton.
Ndidi also commends his midfield partner, Vicente Iborra, stating, “He has been good. He has so much experience, and he is calm on the ball. I admire that, and he is a leader in the middle, so that is what we need.”
Leicester City, aiming for a crucial win, faces Tottenham in a game that holds significance for both teams’ ambitions in the English Premier League.
