Nigeria-eligible Brooke Nunn breaks goal duck for Hibernian in Scotland

Nigeria-eligible winger, Brooke Nunn scored her first goal for Hibernian on Wednesday as her side secured a 3-1 win against Patrick Thistle in the Scottish Women’s Premier League Championship Group game.
Hibernian had to come from a goal down after Cara Henderson gave the visitors the lead in the 27th minute.
Katie Jayne Lockwood equalised for Hibernian in the 46th minute to start the comeback.
She gave her side a deserved lead in the 73rd minute as Brooke crossed the ball into the box after a tricky run.
Adams headed the resulting cross onto the bar and Lockwood fired home the rebound.
Brooke scored her first-ever goal for Hibernian in the 90th minute as she beat Patrick Thistles’ goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation.
The win ensured that Hibernian occupy the fifth position on the log with 35 points after 25 games, behind Glasgow City (68 points), Celtic (66 points), Rangers (65 points) Hearts (43 points), and four points ahead of Patrick Thistles.
Hibernian next encounter is against Hearts on April 22.
Brooke is eligible to play for Nigeria from her mother who is half Nigerian and half German despite being born in England.
She recently declared her intention to play for Nigeria in an exclusive interview with www.nigeriafootball.ng
“Initially I didn’t think the possibility of playing for the Super Falcons was there few years back because you don’t often see or hear of players that didn’t grow up in Nigeria within the squad.
“But owing to the paradigm shift in recent years which handed players outside the country who are of Nigerian descent and heritage the possibility to represent the country, has given me hope and Faith that I can also have an opportunity to play for Nigeria.”
