Nigeria goalkeeper Anderline Ngbechi aims to keep clean sheet against Ghana

Ahead of Saturday’s final match between Nigeria and Ghana at the maiden WAFU-B U-20 Women’s Cup, Nigeria U20 goalkeeper, Anderline Ngbechi is confident of inspiring her country’s to a clinical inaugural success in Kumasi.

The Delta Queens save hands is yet to concede a goal after four matches in the seven-national competition in Ghana and she is keen to ensure finishing the age-grade competition without being breached.

“I am so happy for this tournament. All this while we have played four matches and have not conceded any goal,” Ngbechi told nigeriafootball.com.

“In a match, I always believe in my teammates and God. I am determined that in any match I play not to concede any goal and the favour is always following me.

“I pray that for this final match and I told my teammates that I am not going to concede any goal till we finish the final match.”

The match which starts at 6.30 pm Ghanaian time (7.30 pm in Nigeria) at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi on Saturday.

Saturday’s final jangles the bell of the interesting rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria at all levels of the game, and the hosts would wish they could stop the 19-goal Falconets who are already looking like champions-in-waiting.

Tournament top scorer Opeyemi Ajakaye did not add to her tally on Wednesday night, but Saturday’s final is a great opportunity for her to raise her total haul for the championship.
