Nigeria star Rasheedat Ajibade wraps up Atletico Madrid pre-season in style

Nigeria striker Rasheedat Ajibade returned to action for Atletico Madrid in their final pre-season fixture as they took on Liverpool in a French Women’s Cup on Thursday, August 31, 2023.

Upon her return to Atletico Madrid after helping the Super Falcons at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, she has been impressive against River Plate, AC Milan, and now Liverpool.

The 23-year-old retained her spot in the starting lineup after winning the Women’s Cup in Spain and she provided the winning assist for her side in Colomiers.

Ainhoa Moraza put Atletico Madrid in front but Missy Bo Kearns scored from the penalty spot late to level the game going to the halftime break.

In the 51st minute, the Rojiblancos took the lead after Marta Cardona converted a shot from Ajibade to win the match.

The Women’s World Cup star played all 90 minutes as Atletico Madrid proved superior over English side Liverpool styled in Super Eagles-themed jersey.
