Nigeria U20W 6-0 Togo U20W: Falconets ease past Togolese to seal semi-final spot

The Nigeria U20 team bashed Togo 6-0 to qualify for the semifinal of the Wafu B U20 Cup in Kumasi, Ghana.
The duo of Amina Bello and Flourish Sabastine grabbed a brace each while Esther Onyenezide and Opeyemi Ajakaye also got on the score sheet in the game.
Naija Ratels skilled winger, Bello got on a superbly executed corner kick with a subtle header to put Nigeria ahead in the 11th minute.
In the space of a minute, Sabastine doubled the Falconets lead with her superb finish to ensure the Falconets gave their opponent any breathing space in the opening quarter of the encounter.
The woes of the Togolese were compounded when they gifted the Nigerians a penalty and Onyenezide made no mistake from the spot to increase Nigeria’s tally in the 30th minute.
After a three-goal lead at half time, the Falconets continued where they left off in the second half as Bello was in the beast mode to net her second of the night in the 59th minute.
Two minutes later, Ajakaye scored her fourth goal of the tournament with a good finish to make it five for Christopher Danjuma’s side.
As if they were not done yet, Sabastine registered her brace with a superb finish to ensure Falconets’ half-dozen win.
The result guaranteed the Falconets progression to the knockout stage with a game to spare along with Burkina Faso, who also recorded two wins in a row.
Nigeria will lock horns with Burkina Faso in their last group game on May 28 at the Paa Joe Stadium, Ghana.
