Nigeria vs Cameroon: Kick-off time, venue, and how to watch WAFCON warm-up clash

By Monsurah Olatunji

Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, the Super Falcons, will face the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in the first of two crucial international friendlies as part of their preparations for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

The highly anticipated fixture is scheduled for Saturday, May 31, 2025, with kick-off at 4:00 p.m. Nigerian time. The match will take place at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State.

Fans eager to follow the action can watch the match live on NFF TV, the official streaming platform of the Nigeria Football Federation. Additional broadcast details, including potential local television coverage, are expected to be confirmed closer to kick-off.

The friendlies come at a critical time for the Super Falcons, who are aiming to reclaim continental dominance after a disappointing semi-final exit to hosts Morocco in the 2022 WAFCON.

Nigeria, a record nine-time WAFCON champion, has been placed in Group B for the upcoming tournament alongside Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana.

Despite Cameroon failing to qualify for the 2024 tournament, the West African rivalry remains fierce, making the encounter a valuable test for the Falcons.

Key players including team captain Rasheedat Ajibade and Rinsola Babajide have reported to camp in Ikenne and are participating fully in training ahead of the clash.

The second friendly against Cameroon is expected to be held shortly after the first, as head coach Randy Waldrum fine-tunes his squad ahead of Nigeria’s WAFCON opener in Morocco.
