Nigeria’s Ladan Bosso unmoved by CHAN stars inclusion to Senegal U20 squad

Nigeria U20 head coach, Ladan Bosso is unperturbed about the inclusion of CHAN winning players in Senegal squad for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Senegalese U20 side have been handed a major boost with addition of players from the Championship of Africa Nations (CHAN) winning team for the U20 AFCON in Egypt.

 With the Flying Eagles opening match against the WAFU-A champions, the 2007 U20 Afcon winner insists his side are not troubled by the size and quality of the new addition to the Senegalese party.

“I understand they (Senegal) have a good number of players from the CHAN who could also play against us at the U20 AFCON,” Bosso told SCORENigeria.

“But that could well be their undoing as these players need at least a two-week break between tournaments to do well in Egypt. The players need to be fresh from one competition to the other.”

The Nigeria U20 team wrapped up their preparatory matches in the country as they defeated Zambia 4-2 at the Moshood Abiola stadium, Abuja. The Flying Eagles defeated Senegal in the U20 AFCON in 2015 as they lifted the trophy at the expense of the Senegalese with a lone goal victory.

Both sides were drawn in group A along with host Egypt and Mozambique in the group stages of the U20 AFCON and the Flying Eagles will square up against Senegal on the 19th of February 2023.
