Nigeria’s Rafiu Durosinmi attracts strong EFL interest for January transfer window

By Oluwadamilola Olaleye

Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi has drawn interest from several English Football League clubs, with Hull City, Derby County, Oxford United and Huddersfield Town monitoring his situation ahead of the January transfer window, according to sources who spoke to Football Insider.

Durosinmi has impressed for Czech top-flight side Viktoria Plzen, where he has rebuilt his career after suffering a rare double anterior cruciate ligament injury—affecting both knees—that kept him out for 15 months.

With the 22-year-old entering the final six months of his contract, he is expected to be available for a reduced fee of around £5.7 million (€6.5m). His contract status has accelerated interest from multiple English clubs seeking attacking reinforcements.

The forward made his return to competitive football in February and has scored five league goals in 14 appearances since then. His comeback follows the collapse of a proposed move to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023 after he failed a medical, as well as a separate injury setback that halted a potential transfer to Belgian side Genk.

Durosinmi has nevertheless rediscovered his scoring touch, registering nine goals in 21 matches across all competitions this season—already surpassing his tally of eight from the previous campaign.

His form has positioned him as one of the standout attacking prospects likely to be targeted during the upcoming winter window.
