NNL: Abdu Maikaba pleased with Wikki Tourists’ hardfought draw at Sokoto United

Wikki Tourists’ Technical Adviser, Abdu Maikaba, has expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance following a 0-0 draw against Sokoto United in their Nigeria National League (NNL) Matchday Eight encounter on Saturday.

The Bauchi Elephants held their hosts to a goalless stalemate at the Gingiya Stadium, Sokoto.

Despite their initial aim to secure all three points, Maikaba praised his players for their resilience and solid performance throughout the match.

“We came here hoping to get all three points, but I’m still satisfied with the performance. The boys gave their best, and the one point could prove vital as the season progresses,” Maikaba stated in a post-match interview.

The result could play a crucial role in Wikki Tourists’ promotion push as they aim for a spot in Nigeria’s top-flight league.

Looking ahead, Wikki Tourists will face Gombe United next Saturday at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, as they continue their bid for promotion.
