NNL: Osun State Government dissolve Osun United management board

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

The management board of Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Osun United has been dissolved ahead of the coming campaign.

The board was instituted to stabilize the team and lead them to top-fight promotion for the 2023/2024 season.

However, the management led by Akin Maxwell failed to deliver the much-needed promotion.

The dissolution of the management was announced on Wednesday in Osun State but the main reason for their dissolution remained unknown.

The South-West team finished in third position with 30 points from 20 matches and also failed to make the playoffs.

Their two wins from the last seven league games last season ensured a third-placed finish at the end of the campaign.

They missed the Super 8 Playoffs by five points behind Inter Lagos and a further six points short of Inter Lagos.
