NNL Playoffs: Kano Pillars, Katsina United, Heartland, five others jostle for NPFL ticket

The 2023 Nigeria National League, NNL abridged season has come down to eight teams that will compete for the four available promotion tickets to the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL after the completion of regular season.
Eight other clubs will struggle to retain their status in the relegation playoffs while eight have been confirmed.
In a release by the league’s communication department, the extended abridged season was concluded on Wednesday with Group B2 games played across three centers where Sporting Lagos picked the last position for the promotion playoffs.
Kano Pillars, DMD FC, Katsina United and EFCC FC secured the slots from Northern Conference while Heartland, Abeokuta Stormers, FC One Rocket and Sporting Lagos complete the list from Southern Conference.
There will be second chance for the likes of Sokoto United, Adamawa United ABS FC, FWC Champion FC, Henserd FC, Joy Cometh FC, Ikorodu City FC and Edel FC to retain their status with the relegation playoffs where four of them will remain in the NNL while four will joined the already relegated eight clubs.
Dates and venues will be announced by NNL board for both promotion and relegation playoffs in due course.
