Nigeria National League (NNL) side Sokoto United has pledged to improve the welfare of their players and officials as part of efforts to achieve their goals this season.
The club’s General Manager, Umar Muhammed Maraya, announced during a visit to the team’s training ground on Friday, where he urged the players to remain focused on securing victories in their league matches.
He highlighted that the state government is prioritizing sports development, including football.
“The new Commissioner for the Ministry of Youths and Sports Development, Engineer Mustapha Muhammadu, has promised to increase the welfare package for the players and technical crew,” Maraya said.
“We will do everything possible to ensure that players receive all necessary welfare packages, including increased match bonuses and travel allowances.”
Maraya encouraged the players to stay relaxed and concentrate on winning, as continued success would lead to further bonuses.
Sokoto United is set to face Mighty Jets in their next league match on Saturday.
