NPFL: Abdu Maikaba blames Kano Pillars humiliation on disorganization

By Saheed Afolabi
The head coach of Kano Pillars, Abdu Maikaba has pinned the loss of his side on the disorganization of the club in the first 45 minutes of the game against Sporting Lagos.
The Sai Masu Gida coach disclosed the team is dominated by new players who are just making their debut in the elite Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and with the aim of growing the team sooner.
Maikaba was impressive with how Junior Lokosa was tamed in the second half despite bagging a brace in the first half which he attributed the success to the tactical approach in the second half.
“The team consist of new players in the team and so many of them are making their NPFL debut in the Pillars team,” Maikaba told the Press.
“We are trying to bring a team that will grow sooner. You can see what he (Junior Lokosa) did in the second half, he didn’t get one chance in the second half.
“I believe we lost the game to organization in the first half and you always learn from your mistakes.
“I think it’s something tactical, we discussed it (Tactical approach) in the dressing room, and we worked on it and it worked for us in the second half, if we have been lucky enough, we would have scored or equalize in the second half.”
The Sai Masu Gida side have nine points from seven matches to maintain their position in the mid table of the NPFL.
They will welcome Enyimba International to the 16,000 capacity Sani Abacha stadium, Kano on November 12.
