NPFL: Abdu Maikaba laments missed chances as Wikki fall to Katsina United

By Wale Mustapha

Wikki Tourists head coach, Abdu Maikaba, has expressed disappointment over his team’s wastefulness in front of goal following their 1-0 defeat to Katsina United in a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday Five fixture on Monday.

A solitary strike from Usman Barau proved decisive at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, condemning the Bauchi Elephants to their second defeat of the campaign.

Speaking after the match, Maikaba admitted that his side created enough opportunities to win but were let down by poor finishing.

“We created chances enough to win the game but couldn’t convert them, which is not helping us,” Maikaba told reporters.

“It’s something we have to address immediately before our next game. We need to start making our chances count to reflect the effort we are putting in during practice.”

Wikki Tourists sit ninth on the NPFL standings with seven points from five matches. They will face Enugu Rangers in their Matchday Six encounter.
