Kun Khalifat striker, Ezeonye Henry, has vowed to help his team bounce back from their recent setbacks as they prepare to face Nasarawa United in a crucial Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter this week.
The Owerri-based club suffered a disappointing 1-0 home defeat to Rivers United in their Matchday 12 fixture, marking their third consecutive loss in the league.
Despite a strong first-half performance, Kun Khalifat lost concentration in the second half, allowing Rivers United to claim all three points.
Now, Henry and his teammates are focused on turning things around when they face league leaders, Nasarawa United, in Owerri on Sunday.
“We didn’t expect the defeat to Rivers United,” Henry said ahead of the weekend fixture.
“We played well in the first half, but we lost our concentration after the break and conceded a goal. We know we need to do better, and we are giving our coaches our assurance that we’ll secure victory in our next game.”
Kun Khalifat currently sits in 17th place on the NPFL table with 12 points and will be desperate to end their winless run and regain confidence.
Henry, who has been a standout performer for the newcomers this season, emphasized that the team is fully committed to the challenge ahead.
“We know how important this match is,” he added. “We’ll fight hard to get the three points and move up the table.”
