NPFL: Gbenga Ogunbote remains optimistic of Shooting Stars’ continental dream

Technical Adviser of Shooting Stars, Gbenga Ogunbote, remains optimistic about the team’s chances of securing a continental spot despite their recent defeat to Rivers United.
The Oluyole Warriors suffered a narrow 1-0 loss in their Matchday 35 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash in Port Harcourt.
This setback has affected their chances of finishing third on the league table, which would guarantee them a place in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
However, with three games left in the campaign, Ogunbote is confident that Shooting Stars can still achieve their objective.
“Well, we have two home games and one away game, just like every other team. The important thing is, until it is over, it is not over,” Ogunbote told the club’s media.
“We will go back home, pick up the pieces, and see what we can get from these three games. Maybe we can bounce back. That would be a good thing for us.”
Shooting Stars currently occupy fourth position with 57 points, two points behind Remo Stars, who are in third place. The Oluyole Warriors will host Enugu Rangers at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, on Wednesday.
