Rivers United captain Temple Emekayi has vowed that the Pride of Rivers will not disappoint Nigerians when they face FC Les Aigles du Congo in the second leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
The decisive clash is set for Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, with kick-off scheduled for 4 p.m.
Emekayi said the players are fully aware of the stakes and are determined to rise to the occasion.
“As a team and as individuals, we know what’s at stake. We’ll play to win this game on Sunday, and we won’t let the nation down,” he assured.
With the first leg ending goalless, the captain’s rallying call is expected to spur Rivers United as they push for progression to the next phase of the competition.
