NPFL: Magin Mohammad unveils strategy behind Niger Tornadoes win at Bayelsa United
By Wale Mustapha
Magin Mohammad, the Acting Technical Adviser of Niger Tornadoes, sheds light on how his team secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Bayelsa United in their Matchday 24 clash of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Arriving at the fixture on the heels of a disappointing 2-0 home loss to Enugu Rangers, the Ikon Allah Boys were determined to regain their winning form.

From the outset, they displayed vigor and focus while also maintaining a solid defensive stance against their hosts.

The breakthrough came in the 57th minute when new signing Ikechukwu Nwani capitalized on a well-crafted buildup initiated by Derou Chima and Clinton Jephta, slotting home the decisive goal.

Despite Bayelsa United’s attempts to find an equalizer, Tornadoes’ resilient defense, led by Mohammed Hussaini and Silvester Bell, thwarted their efforts, ensuring a clean sheet for the visitors.

Coach Mohammad commended his players for their performance, attributing the victory to meticulous planning and a positive mindset, stressing the need to bounce back from setbacks.

“Very wonderful, having realised that we lost points at home and we are in danger, the only way is to put up a good fight way they did and get out of the danger,” Mohammed told Tornadoes’ media in Yenagoa.
“Well we prepare for it, and you know in a game of football, anything can happen, If Rangers can come to Kaduna and beat us two nil, we can equally do the same on the road, so we are not surprised.
“This win means there is hope for the team, if we can continue like this, the sky will be our limit.”

The victory marked Tornadoes’ first away win of the season and secured a double over Bayelsa United. With 27 points on the board, they now sit just outside the relegation zone, gearing up to face Sporting Lagos in Kaduna on Wednesday.
