NPFL: Magnut relieved as Nasarawa United pip Rangers to extend unbeaten run

By Wale Mustapha

Nasarawa United head coach Mbwas Magnut has expressed relief following his side’s hard-fought 2–1 comeback victory over Enugu Rangers in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 8 clash on Sunday.

The Solid Miners had to rally from behind at the Lafia City Stadium after conceding an early goal to the Flying Antelopes. Goals from Anas Yusuf and John Joshua turned the tide, securing all three points for the hosts.

The result extends Nasarawa United’s unbeaten streak to seven matches and keeps them top of the NPFL table with 19 points from eight games.

Speaking after the game, Magnut praised his team’s resilience and progress but acknowledged the challenge posed by the visitors.

“I feel very happy with today’s result, especially because my team keeps improving every day,” he told the club’s media.

“Today’s game may not have been smooth, but not every match will be. Your opponents will always have their moments too.”

Nasarawa United now face a potentially tricky away fixture against Ikorodu City this weekend as they look to maintain their impressive early-season form.
