The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 6 fixtures produced tense encounters on Saturday, with Plateau United and Bayelsa United earning crucial results on the road to recovery.
At the New Jos Stadium, Plateau United returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 victory over El Kanemi Warriors. Monday Gideon’s 32nd-minute strike sealed the points for the Peace Boys, who stood firm under late pressure from the visitors.
In Benin, Bayelsa United forced Bendel Insurance to a 1-1 draw at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
The hosts went ahead through a Kayode Oke penalty on the stroke of halftime, but Jawad Mustapha levelled five minutes into the second half to secure a share of the spoils for the Prosperity Boys.
