NPFL: Michael Ibe ecstatic with Katsina United comeback win over Sunshine Stars

Katsina United midfielder, Michael Ibe has described his side’s 3-2 comeback over Sunshine Stars in the Nigeria Premier Football League match as evidence of team work and resilience.

The Chanji Boys rallied to victory in the second half with two goals from Bello Lukman to canceled out a brace from Sunshine’s Michael Olulasi in the first half.

Ibe gave Katsina the first goal of the match with a sublime finish and and is noting that the result further proved the club’s strong mentality and intentions to achieve greatness in the current season.

“I feel very happy for the win, it was not an easy win, especially with the way it went, we had to do a comeback against a tough side,” Ibe told NigeriaFootball.ng.

“One thing we kept telling ourselves at half time was to keep pushing, believing in our ability and the goals will come, I’m glad it paid off.”

The former Akwa United midfielder has netted twice in five games for Katsina this term and he’s willing to do more.

“Scoring my second goal of the season is a beautiful one for me,” he continued.

“I want appreciate my teammates for the support, this is just the beginning of more to come.”

Katsina United who are now eighth on the log with eight points from five games will be guest to Plateau United on Wednesday in Jos.
